A warm welcome from all at Orchardhead House

Our Journey

Thank you for your noted interest in Orchardhead House. I would like to tell you a little about the property. Orchardhead was originally a working farm dating back to the 18th Century. There is evidence of several cottages to the rear of the house which I believe were rented out as summer dwellings in the early 20th century. These were demolished in the early 1960’s. The Military Of Defence then purchased Orchardhead and Ranked Officers lived here until 1995. The House was unoccupied until we purchased it in November 1997. Although it was very unkempt it had the most wonderful potential to be transformed into an ideal setting for our Care Home. The gardens have many mature fruit trees and faces south. Another important factor was the location, which is very near to neighboring villages and Towns also a few miles from the Forth Road Bridges.

When we purchased the House we custom built a 16 bedroom facility and opened in June 1999 within 6 months we were fully occupied and continued to extend to 24 bedrooms, and our final extension was completed in 2005, an additional ten rooms with lounges boasting orchard views. Due to the immense support from my family, the attention to detail has prevailed and the House is well maintained and managed.
